Marketplace and SaaS development

Marketplace and SaaS development in Nigeria, for platforms with many kinds of user

Musskart Lab builds marketplaces and subscription software in Nigeria: platforms where buyers, vendors, staff and admins each get their own dashboard, payments run in Naira, and the rules are yours instead of a template’s. Custom platforms start from ₦4M, quoted in writing.

What we build

Portals, marketplaces and subscription products

A platform is different from a website because people do things on it: sell, buy, approve, subscribe, manage. Each kind of user needs the right view and nothing more.

  • Separate dashboards for buyers, vendors, staff and admins, each seeing only what they should
  • Multi-vendor marketplaces: vendor sign-up, product listings, one checkout and payouts
  • Subscriptions and multi-tenant SaaS, where many customers use one product with their own data
  • Reports and analytics your team will actually use
  • Integrations with payment gateways, SMS, WhatsApp and other services
  • Documentation and a clean handover, so any developer can take it on later

Platforms we’ve built

A marketplace, a trader’s store and a lending platform

Each one has several kinds of user and a live site you can open.

Decide before you build

What a marketplace needs settled first

Who may sell, and how are they approved? A marketplace is only as trusted as its vendors. Decide what you check before a vendor can list, and what the admin team does when a listing breaks your rules.

How does money move? Buyers pay at one checkout, and vendors are paid afterwards. Decide when a vendor is paid, what you keep, and what happens to the money when an order is cancelled or refunded. The ETK Mall marketplace we built pairs approved vendors with one checkout and an admin panel for payouts.

What does each person see? Buyers, vendors, support staff and administrators need different screens. Writing this down early is the cheapest way to avoid a rebuild.

What is the smallest version that proves the idea? Most platforms should launch with one core workflow, accounts, a payment flow and an admin view, and grow from there. That is what our lean first version is for.

Marketplace or store?

Choosing between a store, a marketplace and SaaS

If you sell your own products, you want an online store, which starts from ₦500k. If other businesses sell through you, you want a marketplace. If customers pay you a subscription to use software, you want a SaaS platform. The three share parts, such as accounts and payments, so we can often start with a lean version and add the next layer later.

Platforms that handle wallets, loans or bill payments sit under fintech software, and an app for your platform is a separate build, from ₦2.5M: see mobile app development. Our guides to starting a logistics business and estate prepaid meter apps show how the same thinking applies to other kinds of platform.

How a platform project runs

From the user roles to a live platform

We write down who uses the platform and what each of them can do before any screen is drawn.

  1. Scope and quote

Tell us who uses the platform and how money moves. We send a written scope, a timeline and a price in Naira.

  2. Design the roles and screens

Every user role, every screen and every approval is designed and agreed before production code is written.

  3. Build and test

We build in milestones, you pay by milestone, and we test each role’s journey on real devices.

  4. Launch and hand over

We deploy, train your team and hand over the code, the documentation and every account in your name after final payment.

Questions

Marketplace and SaaS questions

Describe your platform and we’ll tell you what it would take.

Ask on WhatsApp
How much does it cost to build a marketplace or SaaS platform in Nigeria?

At Musskart Lab, custom platforms and SaaS products start from ₦4M, and company-wide systems from ₦10M. The number of user roles, integrations and reports decides where a project lands, and your written quote gives the exact figure. See all our prices in Naira.

Can we start smaller and grow?

Yes, and we recommend it. A lean first version, built around one core workflow with accounts, a payment flow and an admin view, starts from ₦2.5M and usually takes 4–6 weeks. You launch, learn and fund the next stage.

Can a marketplace take payments and pay vendors?

Yes. ETK Mall takes payments through Paystack at one checkout and has an admin panel for vendor payouts. We connect the gateway and build the rules you decide for when and how vendors are paid.

Can you add a mobile app to the platform?

Yes. ETK Mall has an Android app on Google Play. Apps start from ₦2.5M and are built from one Flutter codebase: see mobile app development.

Who owns the platform and its code?

You do. Once the final payment is made we hand over the source code, the design files, the documentation and the accounts in your name, so you can take them to any team.

Can you take over a platform another developer started?

Usually, yes. We look through the code first and tell you plainly whether it makes more sense to fix it or to rebuild it.
