POS and inventory software

POS and inventory software in Nigeria, for shops that count every item

Musskart Lab builds point-of-sale and inventory software for Nigerian businesses: sales at the till, stock across your branches and reports you can read from your phone. Custom business software starts from ₦4M, and a lean first version from ₦2.5M, quoted in writing in Naira.

What we build

Sales, stock and reports that agree with each other

When the till, the store room and the owner’s report all show the same numbers, you can see what sells, what is running out and where money or stock goes missing.

  • Sales: a quick checkout for the cashier, with receipts for every sale
  • Stock: what you hold in each branch, with transfers between branches
  • Reports: sales by day, branch, product and cashier, and what needs re-ordering
  • Roles: cashiers, branch managers and owners each see and change only what they should
  • Payments recorded as cash, transfer or card, so the day’s figures can be checked
  • An owner’s view on a phone, so you can follow every branch without being there

What to consider first

Seven things that decide whether a POS system works

A till system is used all day, under pressure, with a queue. These are the places where projects go wrong.

When the power or network drops

Trading cannot stop because the connection did. Decide what the till does when it is offline and how sales are caught up afterwards, then test it before opening day.

Control over discounts and voids

Most losses at the till come from price changes, voided sales and refunds. Decide who may do each, and keep a record of who did what and when.

Stock that is counted right

Stock should fall with every sale and rise with every delivery, and a regular count should show any gap. Products with sizes, colours or expiry dates need extra care.

Several branches

Decide whether each branch keeps its own stock and prices, how stock moves between them, and what the owner sees across all of them.

Payments you can reconcile

Cash, bank transfers and card payments should be recorded separately, so the end-of-day figures can be matched against the money you really received.

Equipment you already have

List the receipt printers, barcode scanners and tablets or computers you plan to use. They shape the design and the budget, so tell us before we scope it.

Staff who will use it

A system that is slow or confusing is bypassed. Plan training for cashiers and managers, and make sure you receive the code, the accounts and the documentation.

Custom or ready-made?

When a ready-made POS is enough, and when it is not

If you run one shop with ordinary products, a ready-made POS product may serve you well, and it will cost less than a custom build. We will say so.

A custom system pays off when selling is the business and your rules are particular: several branches with their own stock and prices, stock transfers, special discount rules, reports your accountant needs in a certain form, or a connection to your website or online store so one stock count serves both.

Decide the first version around what hurts most, usually the till, stock and a daily report. Branches, transfers and extra reports can follow once the first version is in daily use.

How a project runs

From a visit to a working till

You see the screens before any code is written, and working software before you pay for each milestone.

  1. Scope and quote

We learn how your shops work, then send a written scope, a timeline and a price in Naira. Nothing starts until you agree to it.

  2. Design the screens

Every screen, from the checkout to the stock count, is designed and agreed before production code is written.

  3. Build and test

We build in milestones and you pay after seeing working software. We test on the devices you will really use.

  4. Launch and hand over

We bring in your product list, train your staff and hand over the code and every account in your name after final payment.

Questions

POS and inventory questions

Describe your shops and we’ll tell you plainly what they need.

Ask on WhatsApp
Can you build POS and inventory software?

Yes. We build custom business software around how an organisation works, and POS and inventory systems are among the things we offer. We show you the designed screens and a working first version before you commit to the whole build.

How much does POS software cost in Nigeria?

Our custom business software starts from ₦4M, and a lean first version from ₦2.5M. The number of branches, user roles and reports decides where a project lands, and your written quote gives the exact figure. See all our prices in Naira.

Can it manage stock across several branches?

Yes. Stock can be tracked per branch, with transfers between branches and an owner’s view across all of them. Tell us how your branches work and we will design around it.

Can it connect to my website or online store?

Yes. We can build the till and the website to share one stock count, so a sale in the shop and a sale online both reduce the same figure. See online store development.

Can I check my sales from my phone?

Yes. We design the owner’s reports for a phone, so you can follow sales and stock across your branches without being in the shop.

Who owns the system?

You do. Once the final payment is made we hand over the source code, the design files and every account in your name.
