Hospital and clinic management software

Hospital management software in Nigeria, with records you can trust

Musskart Lab builds hospital and clinic management systems for Nigerian healthcare providers: patient records, appointments, billing and pharmacy in one system, with each person seeing only what their role allows. Custom business software starts from ₦4M, and a lean first version from ₦2.5M, quoted in writing.

What we build

One record for each patient, one view for each role

A clinic or hospital works well when the front desk, the clinician, the pharmacy and the accounts office all work from the same, correct record, and each sees only what their job needs.

  • Patient records: registration, visit history and notes, in one place
  • Appointments: booking, rescheduling and a clear view of the day for each clinician
  • Billing: charges, payments and receipts, with payment through Paystack or Flutterwave where you want it
  • Pharmacy: stock, dispensing records and low-stock alerts
  • Access by role, so the front desk, nurses, doctors, pharmacists and administrators each see the right things
  • Reports for management, from daily income to stock

What to consider first

Seven things to settle before building a hospital system

Software that holds patient records has to be careful by design. These are the places where projects go wrong.

Health data is sensitive

Information about a person’s health is among the most sensitive personal data there is, and Nigeria’s data protection law applies to it. Consent, security and how long you keep records all need decisions. See the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. This is general information, not legal advice.

Access by role, and a trail

Not everyone should open every file. Set what each role may see and change, and record who opened or edited a record and when, so a question can be answered later.

One record per patient

Duplicate records are a risk to care and to billing. Plan how patients are identified at registration, and how duplicates are found and merged.

Billing that matches the visit

Charges should follow what was done, with receipts for every payment. If you work with health insurers or HMOs, decide early how their claims are tracked, because that changes the design.

Pharmacy and stock

Drug stock, expiry dates and dispensing records need to agree with each other. A system that shows what was dispensed, to whom and from which stock saves money and prevents errors.

Power cuts and weak networks

A busy front desk cannot stop when the network drops. Decide what happens during downtime and how records are caught up afterwards, and make backups a routine, not an afterthought.

Training and handover

Staff must trust the system, or they will go back to paper. Plan training for each role, and make sure you receive the code, the accounts and the documentation.

Decide before you build

Questions to settle with your management team

Clinic or hospital? A clinic that sees outpatients needs less than a hospital with wards, a laboratory and several departments. Say which departments the first version must cover.

What else do you need? A laboratory, imaging, wards and admissions, or staff scheduling can all be added, but each adds to the price. Most providers do best starting with registration, appointments, billing and pharmacy.

Who is responsible for the data? The facility is responsible for its patients’ records, and the software has to support that responsibility. Take legal advice on consent, retention and sharing, and tell us the rules you must follow.

If a ready-made product already fits your facility, use it. A custom system pays off when your workflow is particular, you run several sites, or you want the system to grow with you. We will tell you plainly which case you are in.

How a project runs

From a visit to a working system

You see the screens before any code is written, and working software before you pay for each milestone.

  1. Scope and quote

We learn how your facility works, then send a written scope, a timeline and a price in Naira. Nothing starts until you agree to it.

  2. Design the screens

Every screen, from registration to the pharmacy counter, is designed and agreed before production code is written.

  3. Build and test

We build in milestones and you pay after seeing working software. We test each role’s journey on real devices.

  4. Launch and hand over

We train your staff and hand over the code and every account in your name after final payment.

Questions

Hospital software questions

Describe your facility and we’ll tell you plainly what it needs.

Ask on WhatsApp
Can you build a hospital management system?

Yes. We build custom business software around how an organisation works, and hospital and clinic systems are among the things we offer. We show you the designed screens and a working first version before you commit to the whole build.

How much does hospital management software cost in Nigeria?

Our custom business software starts from ₦4M, and a lean first version from ₦2.5M. The number of departments, user roles and reports decides where a project lands, and your written quote gives the exact figure. See all our prices in Naira.

Is patient data safe in a system you build?

We design access by role and build the system with security in mind, but the facility remains responsible for its patients’ data under Nigeria’s data protection law. We explain what that means in practice, and we recommend taking legal advice on consent and retention.

Can we start with registration and billing?

Yes, and we recommend a small first version. Registration, appointments, billing and the pharmacy cover most day-to-day work. Other departments can follow once the first version is in daily use.

Does the software replace clinical judgement?

No. It keeps records, schedules and bills accurately. Clinical decisions stay with your clinicians, and we do not give medical advice.

Who owns the system?

You do. Once the final payment is made we hand over the source code, the design files and every account in your name.
